Description

An ambitious fire prevention project was required for this new industrial plant, worth over EUR 400 million, strategically located on the outskirts of Milan. The innovative facility, owned by German company Vetropack, is located in the area previously occupied by the former Saffa factory, and replaces the glassworks in Trezzano.

The modern plant in Boffalora sopra Ticino will be used to manufacture food and beverage bottles and containers. Covering an area of 347,000 square metres, half of which is allocated to production facilities, this project represents a significant step forward for the company.

The new facility, which replaces the old glassworks in Trezzano sul Naviglio, has been designed to ensure a 70% increase in output, a considerable increase on the previous factory premises. Located in the area that once housed the Saffa match factory, the inauguration of this new plant adds a historical and industrial dimension to the development.

Within this unique context, we focused on key aspects of the part we played in the project:

  • Technical aim: We developed a high-quality fire prevention project, guaranteeing the safety and protection of the plant and the people involved.
  • Specialised Project Management: Our expertise extended to include specialised management of the project, ensuring each phase was implemented to a high standard.
  • SCIA and Final Authorisation permits: We provided the necessary support for drafting and submitting Start of Activity Certificates (SCIA) and final authorisations, ensuring full compliance with regulations and obtaining the permits needed to allow the plant to run.

We are delighted to have played a part in bringing about this extraordinary project, which is an important step forward for local industry and the safety of industrial facilities.
