Fire Prevention
What is the SGSA?
The SGSA is the FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM; it is a vital means of ensuring the planned and implemented safety level remains constant over the course of time.
After correctly assessing the fire risk, analysing the compensatory strategy and implementing and certifying the project on site, time becomes a safety factor in its own right. As a result, a document that allows a company to guarantee safety over time becomes a practical necessity. This comprehensive document sets out the management methods used (all the activities introduced by those who work with and implement the company procedures every day in order to prevent accidents), and emergency handling methods, i.e. the tasks that prepare for and manage the emergency through the company’s Internal Emergency Plan.
An effective SGSA has a number of key goals:
- it enhances safety aspects from a management perspective through an organisational, systematic and gradual approach;
- it fosters increased responsibility on the part of the entrepreneur, who becomes the manager and the ‘first driver’ of the company’s safety policies, including those on fire safety;
- it enhances the organisational growth of fire safety through the support of a Qualified Fire Safety Professional;
- it encourages corporate fire safety policy choices.
- It covers every aspect governing the maintenance and control of plants and structures. A proper Maintenance Plan stems from our extensive experience and the practical nature of our direct partners. We offer support to company maintenance companies, or carry out any maintenance work needed ourselves. The legally mandated Fire Inspection Register now calls for Qualified Professionals (Ministerial Decree 1 September 2021) to possess the proper skills.
- It will contain all internal and external training procedures in line with Ministerial Decree dated 2 September 2021. Our staff of Qualified Trainers can draft every aspect covered by Corporate Training Plans.
- It will cover all the control aspects of the individual company phases by means of an audit of the company’s internal work, giving the Business Owner all the support and peace of mind regarding fire safety. We are also able to offer a Company Management Plan, and to take on the role of Company Fire Safety Manager for all activities.
- It will detail all aspects of support involved in the Company Prevention and Protection Service, ensuring all safety-related aspects are combined into a single, cohesive project.
- It will outline all the performance control tools needed to ensure the Business Owner effectively manages the company’s safety policy. There is a need for guidance regarding the choice of supplies which must be evaluated for fire safety purposes. A piece of machinery, materials, storage methods and working procedures must be viewed from all angles of Fire Prevention.
- It will contain all aspects of emergency preparedness. Even if the fire prevention project and works endeavour to reduce the risk of accidents to a minimum, they can, unfortunately, happen at any time. Being prepared is the first aspect of a proper response to the event. Our Management System gives staff all the information they need to make incident response easier and faster. Work on containing consequences is crucial to enable the safety of people and ensure as much business continuity as possible.
